Gold And Silver Medal For Indonesia At The Budapest International Choir Competition
On April 17th – 20th and taking place at the Palace of Art – Bartok Bela National Concert Hall Budapest was held the 13th Budapest International Choir Competition in Hungary. Over 60 choir group from more than 15 countries took part at the competition including Indonesia.
Representing Indonesia was the Gema Taman Khatulistiwa from Bontang, East Kalimantan. With Ferdinand Rosok as Head of entourage and dr. Etha Tandipayung as Manager, the group consisting of 32 singers has mesmerized the full pack audience who was present at the event.
At the said competition, they performed twice and presents Indonesian folk songs such as Leleng and O Aniko. Wearing eye catching traditional costumes from East Kalimantan, the group conducted Tommyanto Kandisaputra has received one gold medal and one silver medal each for Folklore and Mix Group Choir. Juries of the competition are from Hungary, Czech Republic and Bulgaria.
