Tourists banned from swimming in kuta beach due to high tide

Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA News) - Tourists have been banned from swimming in Kuta Beach, Bali, caused by the high tide reaching 3-4 meters.

"The ban has been imposed from Friday at 9 am Central Indonesian Time indefinitely. Tourists have been banned from swimming in the beach for a while, until the weather turns conducive," said Coordinator of Water Tourism Rescue Agency Ketut Ipel here, Friday.

The ban was followed by the removal of the swimming safety notice at the Kuta Beach.

The notice board was used to put in post I to VII length 50 meters, "We have banned some tourists who used to swim in the area," he said.

Meanwhile, the ban did not apply to surfers who want swim in high tide under the tight supervision of the Rescue Agency.

"The height of the tide is fluctuating, but since 9 am, it is getting higher and reached 3-4 meters. We do hope this weather will pass soon so that the tourists can return to swim in Kuta Beach," said Ketut Ipel.

In the last two days, the sea in Bali was not conducive, although the Padang Bai Harbor (Bali)-Lembar Harbor (Lombok Island) was closed.

Meanwhile, the open-close system will be imposed on the Gilimanuk Harbor (Bali)-Ketapang Harbor (Banyuwangi, East Java) if the tide is getting higher.
